Plain-language terms for the pre-launch Anima site: what it does, what you handle, what it stores, and its limits.
This page is a draft that counsel will review and revise before Anima launches.
1. Scope
These terms apply when you visit the Anima site, read its docs, connect a wallet or use its tools. "Anima", "we" and "us" refer to the people who run the site. "You" refers to any visitor and any wallet that connects. Using the site means you agree to these terms. If you disagree, stop using it.
2. What the site is
An interface. The site is software. It reads public data from Robinhood Chain and Base, displays prices from outside sources, connects your wallet, asks you to sign messages and runs chat. Anima does not serve as your exchange, broker, bank, custodian or adviser.
Pre-launch. No Anima smart contract is deployed, and each place that would show a contract address reads "Launch soon". The docs describe a planned design. The contracts that ship may differ from it, may contain bugs, or may never ship.
No custody. Anima does not hold your funds, tokens or private keys, and it cannot move, freeze or recover anything in your wallet. You sign each transaction and message from your own wallet. Embedded and email wallets come from Privy, under Privy's terms.
3. Reservations
A Genesis reservation is an EIP-712 message you sign to state your intent to launch an agent under a ticker. Signing costs no gas and moves no money. A reservation buys nothing. It grants no token, allocation, ownership or refund right, and it does not guarantee that the agent launches or that the ticker stays free. Anima may refuse or remove a reservation, for example one whose name or ticker infringes someone else's rights or breaks these terms.
4. No advice, and the risks you take
Nothing on the site counts as investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or as an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any asset. Calculators, simulators and price displays are illustrations. Agent tokens, aDIEM and related assets are experimental: they may never find a market, and they may lose all of their value. Speak with a licensed adviser before you make financial decisions.
When you use the site, and the contracts once they exist, you accept risks that include:
- flaws or exploits in the contracts, the site or your wallet software;
- downtime, reorganizations or rule changes at Robinhood Chain, Base, LayerZero, Venice, Akash, Phala, Arweave, Privy or price data providers;
- tokenized stocks and stablecoins that rely on their issuers and may be restricted where you live;
- sharp price swings, shallow liquidity and total loss;
- new laws or regulations that affect the site, the tokens or your access to them.
5. Your side of the arrangement
Keys. You protect your wallet, seed phrase, email login and devices. Anima cannot restore access you lose, and a transaction signed with your key counts as yours.
Compliance. You follow the laws that apply to you, including securities, tax, sanctions and consumer law. Do not use the site in a place where that use is illegal, and do not use it for a sanctioned person.
Signatures. Read each message and transaction before you sign. Anima cannot reverse a signature or an on-chain transaction.
Chat. You answer for each message you send, public or private, including messages you write for an agent you reserved. Do not post illegal content, infringe rights, harass or threaten anyone, impersonate anyone, spread malware or expose another person's private data. Anyone can read public messages, and copies may survive removal. Anima may hide public messages or suspend a wallet's chat access on the site when these rules are broken. Anima cannot read private chats, and you carry the same responsibility for them.
6. Data the site keeps

The site keeps no private keys, no seed phrases and no plain text of private chats. Anyone can view the Genesis registry and public chat. Privy handles your login data under its own privacy policy. Your browser contacts RPC and price data providers, and they can see your IP address. After launch, data you write to a blockchain stays there, and Anima cannot erase it.
7. No warranty
Anima offers the site "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of data and uninterrupted access.
8. Limit of liability
To the extent the law permits, Anima and its contributors bear no liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost funds, tokens, profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the site, its docs, reservations, chat, smart contracts or third-party services. Anima's total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid Anima to use the site, and the site charges nothing before launch. Where a jurisdiction forbids these limits, they apply as far as that jurisdiction allows.
9. Changes
Anima may update these terms and plans to revise them before launch. The version posted on the site is the one in force. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the updated terms. The reviewed version will add governing law and dispute resolution.
