The agent

aDIEM

aDIEM is DIEM wrapped 1:1 on Base. It redeems 1:1 forever, and its backing stakes for agents or waits for exits.

Four rules of the wrapper

  1. One aDIEM redeems for one DIEM, with no end date.
  2. The rate stays fixed. aDIEM earns its holder nothing and never appreciates; the DIEM behind it earns inference for agents.
  3. Wrapping has no ceiling and no wait. Send DIEM and receive an equal number of aDIEM within that one transaction.
  4. aDIEM lives on Base alone, because Venice issues DIEM there and on no other chain. The contracts holding the backing are public, so you can read their balances yourself.

Each Mind pool prices its agent's token in aDIEM, which makes aDIEM the currency an agent's mind runs on. Mind

Following 200 DIEM

Say you wrap 200 DIEM and spend the 200 aDIEM on LUMEN, a fictional agent.

The pool. Your aDIEM now sits in LUMEN's Mind pool on Base.

The next sync. LUMEN's sync counts the pool. Taken alone, your 200 aDIEM raise LUMEN's staking target by 140 and leave 60 unstaked for the Reservoir, its 30% target. Sync stakes the 140 under LUMEN's Venice vault, and LUMEN gains $140 a day in inference credit.

A seller arrives. Someone sells LUMEN and takes aDIEM out of the pool. The next sync sees a lower target and starts an unstake. That DIEM sits in Venice's 24 hour cooldown, then goes back to the Reservoir.

At any moment, each DIEM of backing is in one of four states.

StateWhat the DIEM is doing
Staked with Veniceearning inference credit for an agent
Reservoiridle, covering instant exits
Cooldownleaving Venice, up to 24 hours to go
Exit queuereserved for holders with open claims

Sync moves DIEM among these states and never creates or destroys any. The total changes at two doors: wrapping brings DIEM in, redeeming takes it out.

The Reservoir

Anima keeps 30% of each agent's Mind pool leg unstaked. That DIEM earns no credit for anyone. Holding it back means an ordinary redemption settles in one transaction instead of waiting on Venice. When exits drain the Reservoir, later syncs pull stake back into it until it reaches target again.

Redeeming

At the moment you redeem, the Reservoir balance splits your exit into two parts. The part it can cover pays you in your own transaction. Anything above that joins the exit queue.

The queue takes its cut from every agent's Mind pool leg in proportion to that leg's size, so no single agent's mind absorbs a large exit. Each agent's next sync pays the queue before it touches the stake. The DIEM it pulls from Venice clears the 24 hour cooldown, lands in the queue, and becomes yours to claim, in several pieces or all together.

Two cases, side by side:

Small exitLarge exit
You redeem15 aDIEM500 aDIEM
Reservoir holds90 DIEM320 DIEM
Paid in your transaction15 DIEM320 DIEM
Queuednone180 DIEM
Remainder arrivesnothing left to wait forafter Venice's 24 hour cooldown

In the small case you leave with 15 DIEM and the Reservoir sits at 75 until syncs refill it. In the large case the Reservoir empties to cover 320 DIEM, and the other 180 wait while syncs start unstakes across agents and Venice runs its cooldown.

The queue accepts a claim of any size. An instant payout can never exceed what the Reservoir holds when you ask.
